Julien Melissas is personable, approachable and driven! He is a web developer who believes that if one does something, it’s worth doing right! He loves to learn about new technologies and development workflows, and devotes most of his time to working on front-end, but is comfortable working across other tracks.
Julien cofounded, and functions as the Technical Director at Craftpeak, a creative agency in Asheville, North Carolina, where he has worked on UI/UX projects, as well as full website and web app builds. In 2016, Craftpeak directed its attention to developing a digital platform to help premier Craft Breweries level-up their website, social media, and content marketing game. With a current clientele of over 10 amazing breweries and counting, this venture has become Craftpeak’s singular focus. Prior to Craftpeak, Julien functioned as a freelance, Independent Contractor dba JM Labs for several years.
During this time, his work took him across the country building custom WordPress themes; performing PSD to HTML/CMS conversions, and creating Responsive Web Development solutions for clients of all types. He also assisted Internet Startups with the planning, development, and launch of their products. In addition, Julien is part of the Roots.io development team, and enjoys working on open source projects.
His website gives us a porthole view into “The Life and Times of Julien Melissas”, and is a one-stop spot for all things Melissas! Julien is an industrious young man, who seems to have found balance in his life. He’s a self-proclaimed foodie, who loves to cook, and a music lover who plays drums, bass, and keyboard. If he’s not coding, making music or cooking, he’ll more than likely be exploring the mountains on his motorcycle or frolicking with his two dogs.
